Mark Delpriora

Mark Delpriora is a composer, soloist and a professor at the Manhattan School of Music and the Juilliard School in New York. He has also given master classes at the Eastman School of Music, the Oberlin Conservatory, the Chapman University Conservatory of Music, the Nakas Conservatory in Athens, Greece, and the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil. 

 

Various chamber music recordings, for example with the flutist Laurel Zucker and his solo interpretations, attracted international attention. The legendary New York Times praised his debut concert in New York and pointed out that Mark Delpriora was to be expected on the guitar scene. 

 

His compositions are performed worldwide and include commissioned works for artists such as the Scarlatti Duo, Stanley Yates or Damien Lancelle, to name but a few. His variations on a theme by Fernando Sor were also chosen as compulsory pieces for the Guitar Foundation of America's International Guitar Competition.
