Dieter Kreidler

Dieter Kreidler has been a professor of guitar since 1975. From 1997 to 2009 he was Dean at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Wuppertal, Germany. In addition, he held the office of provisional dean at the Aachen location during the winter semesters 2007 to 2009. Dieter Kreidler has been retired since March 2009. 

 

During his active time he played international concerts especially in the field of chamber music and published numerous publications for guitar (including 2 internationally known guitar schools in several volumes etc.), guitar ensembles and plucked string orchestras, among others with Schott International (Mainz), Trekel (Hamburg) and Nogatz (Essen). 

 

Dieter Kreidler was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 1994 for his commitment to amateur music.

 

Dieter Kreidler was Federal Music Director of the Bund Deutscher Zupfmusiker e.V. (BDZ) from 1978 to February 2012. (BDZ), where he now acts as Vice President. From 1982 to 2014 he was also a member of the "Jugend musiziert" project advisory board. Since 2005 Dieter Kreidler has been Chairman of the Project Advisory Board of the Deutsche Orchesterwettbewerb (DOW) of the Deutsche Musikrat. Dieter Kreidler is the initiator of several renowned guitar seminars and a juror at international festivals and competitions.
