The term "Alegrías" comes from flamenco and means "joy" or "joy of playing". It is precisely this joy and passion of playing that Dimitri Lavrentiev, Takeo Sato and Klaus Wladar convey in their concerts.
Following their master class studies at the Musikhochschule Augsburg, the three winners of important international guitar competitions founded the "Alegrías Guitar Trio", which has become one of the most sought-after guitar trios in Europe.
The musicians, who come from three different nations (Russia, Germany, Austria), have set themselves the goal of exploring the repertoire for three guitars and entering new territory - among other things with spectacular virtuoso arrangements of Borodin's "Polowetzer Tänzen" and Grieg's "Peer Gynt-Suite". "The three musicians", enthuses the Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, "impressed with their fiery virtuosity and a daring range from Baroque music to dances and picturesque sound impressions from Spain to tango interludes from Russia".
